In a blockbuster move just before the holiday season, the Los Angeles Dodgers are set to welcome former San Diego Padres players Jurickson Profar and Ha-Seong Kim to their roster, as reported by Holly Baylor from Fax Sports. The terms of the deals are as follows: Profar has inked a 3-year, $45 million contract, while Kim has secured a more substantial 7-year, $155 million deal. Remarkably, both players have agreed to defer all money in their contracts, showcasing their commitment to the team's financial flexibility and long-term planning.

Jurickson Profar, known for his versatility on the field and his memorable moments, couldn't hide his excitement about joining the Dodgers. "It's going to be fun playing left field at Dodger Stadium with how gullible their fans are," Profar quipped, referencing a playful moment during the 2024 National League Division Series where he famously robbed a home run from Mookie Betts, leaving many Dodger fans in disbelief.

Ha-Seong Kim, on the other hand, expressed his enthusiasm about playing alongside stars like Shohei Ohtani and the much-talked-about Yoshinobu Yamamoto and Roki Sasaki, the latter of whom is unofficially considered a Dodger already. Kim is particularly eager to connect with the Korean community in Los Angeles, looking forward to embracing his new city both on and off the field.

The reactions from the San Diego Padres camp were mixed. Manny Machado, a stalwart for the Padres, expressed disappointment but respect for his former teammates' decisions. "Typical Dodgers. They hate us 'cause they ain't us," Machado noted. Rookie sensation Jackson Merrill, however, saw it as a challenge. "It's their loss, our gain. Time for new blood to step up," he stated optimistically.

The news of these signings has already caused a stir among the Dodger faithful. In an overzealous display of fandom, 500 Dodger fans were arrested for illegally firing fireworks in celebration, a testament to the high expectations and the passionate support the team enjoys.

As the Dodgers gear up for what could be a championship-caliber season, these acquisitions not only bolster their lineup but also send a clear message: the fight for the World Series is on, and they're not holding back. With Profar's experience and Kim's dynamic play, the Dodgers are poised to make 2025 a year to remember in LA baseball history.
