Los Angeles County issued an official apology after mistakenly sending an evacuation text alert to everyone in LA County for the wildfires. Mayor Karen Bass took to the podium to clarify the situation, stating that the alert was intended for one person only - Los Angeles Dodgers super utility man, Chris Taylor.

"This is awkward, but we only meant to send the evacuation alert to Dodgers infielder Chris Taylor," Bass clarified to reporters and concerned citizens.

According to Mayor Bass, the directive to send the alert came directly from Dodgers manager Dave Roberts, who admitted, "We figured this was the best way to reach him." The intent was to give Chris Taylor a wake-up call after his disappointing 2024 season, where he posted the worst numbers of his career, per Statfax.

However, the plan backfired when the alert was accidentally broadcast county-wide. Chris Taylor, an Android user, has since come forward denying he got any evacuation alert, claiming, "My Google Pixel never received the text." Despite this, Taylor remains in denial about the situation and hopes to still be on the Dodgers roster come spring training, even though he's reportedly been unofficially cut from the team.

This incident has sparked a mix of confusion and amusement across the city, with many residents questioning the efficiency of emergency alert systems and the lengths to which sports teams will go to motivate their players. The Dodgers have yet to comment further on the situation, but one thing's for sure - Chris Taylor's days in blue are numbered.
