In a surprising turn of events, Pete Alonso, the powerhouse first baseman known for his back-to-back Home Run Derby titles, has proposed a unique deal to join the Los Angeles Dodgers. According to an exclusive reveal by Dave Roberts on the FAX Sports Podcast, Alonso is willing to forgo participating in all future Home Run Derbies in exchange for a contract with the Dodgers.

Alonso, who has been a standout player for the New York Mest, expressed his desire to don the Dodger blue, stating, "I just want to be a Dodger." This move has sparked discussions about how the Dodgers would integrate Alonso into their lineup, especially considering they already have Freddie Freeman as their first baseman.

Dave Roberts, the Dodgers' manager, commented on the situation, saying, "We'd love to have Pete. I know he plays the same position as Freddie, and we don't need another first baseman, but we would find a way to make it work."

Freddie Freeman, however, made his stance clear with a firm, "I'm not moving."

The talks have intensified, as reported by Holly Baylor, who has been closely following the negotiations this offseason. The Dodgers are considering a strategic move where Alonso could potentially take over second base, a position currently held by Gavin Lux. In a bold potential trade scenario, the Dodgers might send Gavin Lux to North Japan, aiming to acquire the young pitching prodigy Mini Moto, the younger brother of Lil Moto.

This proposed deal not only shakes up the Dodgers' current roster but also signals their intent to strengthen their team with high-caliber talent like Alonso, who is willing to make significant sacrifices for the chance to play in LA.

As the negotiations progress, all eyes are on how the Dodgers will manage their roster to accommodate Alonso's arrival, potentially reshaping their infield dynamics and adding another layer of excitement to the upcoming season.
