Wander Franco, the talented yet controversial baseball player, has announced his New Year's resolution for 2025: to uninstall Snapchat from his phone. This decision comes as part of his effort to address his past mistakes and focus on his career.
"It's time to own up to my mistakes," Franco candidly told reporters. He admitted that the app had become "too tempting and time-consuming," revealing that at times, he would spend an implausible 25 hours a day scrolling through the platform, which is an MLB and Snapchat record, per Statfax.
Franco's decision is not just a personal resolution but also a strategic move to mend his professional reputation. He hopes that this gesture of good faith will encourage MLB teams to overlook his current legal issues, paving the way for a potential comeback. He expressed openness to rejoining his former team, the Tampa Bay Rays, or even considering a move to the New York Mest.
Franco said he plans to spend more time on Facebook and LinkedIn, in the absence of Snap.
Whether this will indeed help in his career resurgence remains to be seen, but it marks a significant step in his journey towards redemption and focus.
